Apprenticeship for Workforce Development
Apprenticeship is the gold standard of workforce development. ACCELerate Apprenticeship is a U.S. Department of Labor (US DOL) grant-funded initiative of the American Association of Port Authorities (AAPA) helping ports and companies build scalable, sustainable apprenticeship programs to meet immediate and rapidly evolving occupational needs. Our team of apprenticeship experts can help fast-track your program development, leverage multiple sources of funding, and engage key partners to recruit and help train qualified candidates that can become your company’s next generation of leadership.
Apprenticeship is an employer-driven and industry-aligned model for organizations interested in recruiting and retaining the best talent and standardizing employee training for critical occupations and across sites.
More than 150,000 American companies and organizations are using apprenticeship for strategic workforce development and 94% of those surveyed would recommend the model to their peers. (USDOL)
Apprenticeship provides the ability for employers to continually adapt work-based training and related education to organizational needs and industry trends. Programs can be tailored for the occupations and format (time-based, competency-based or hybrid) desired by employer.
“The Apprentice Program at Oceaneering International’s Marine Services Division is first and foremost a proven talent development strategy. There is customized related instruction and on-the-job training tailored to our specific business needs. The end result is highly-skilled employees, craftsmen in their chosen field, and the next generation of leaders ready to move forward.”
